Looking back on a great year
2014 has been a big year for Digital Designs - full of growth and change. Yet, the one thing that remains constant is our team’s commitment to continually refine our development methods in order to create a more efficient process for our clients. Here are a few of our highlights from the past 12 months:
LOCAL AND GLOBAL
Since our early days in 2006 we have had the pleasure of helping businesses and organizations market themselves primarily within the local area. Eight years later our objective has expanded into helping our clients reach national and global recognition as well. Working with web technologies, (a field with zero limitations), it allows us to help organizations, individuals and businesses the opportunity to reach out, touch and impact a truly borderless world.
It has also been a year of physical growth - we have gained a new valuable team member. Nicole Wolff (a graduate of Black Hills State University) joined us last spring and brings not only a keen eye for effective design, but freshness, organization and a persistence to pursue the best possible solution for our clients. As we are learning each other’s strengths, we are discovering our new synergistic development model. I also do enjoy pushing Nicole's buttons by accidentally forgetting my notepad and other clutter on her desk
The common thread that has been with us throughout the entire year is our embrace of Responsive Web Design (RWD). Wikipedia defines this approach as “web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).” This stands in contrast to building a separate mobile optimized website and has the advantage of developing and maintaining only one website – thus much more cost-effective. It is rather complex topic and one which we will delve further into in future posts, but it has so far caused a major revamp of our development processes and equipped many of our clients with sites that are more future-proof and display optimally on all devices.
Here are the responsive websites that we have launched this year:
With that, we enter 2015 with anticipation of many more purposeful adventures and discoveries. May it be great one for all of us!
