Biography

Hi, my name is David Lawson. I developed an interest in electronics at an early age. My Dad (Amateur Radio Extra Class AA5A) is retired from Texas Instruments as a Radar Engineer. He showed me the way into the electronics world. My goal at an early age was to be a broadcast engineer. To that extent, I studied to earn my FCC Commercial Radiotelephone License (Second Class w/ Radar) and my Amateur radio license. I soon discovered that the Chief Engineer's job was mostly paperwork. So, while serving in the U.S. Navy, I discovered two way communication. I spent several years in secure military and commercial 2-way radio. After an Honorable Discharge from the U.S.N., I was fortunate to land my first job at the Central Research Laboratory at Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. I discovered that Electronics Research and Product Development was my lot in life. After working for several electronics companies in Dallas, I started Digital Designs in 1988. And as they say: "The rest is History".
Here is a summary of what I have accomplished:
I'm co-inventor on 2 patents, here are abstracts for 5,204,768 and 5,563,630
